HISTORY

Our namesake, a gentleman of high stature, a Lord Provost if truth be told, has caused many whispered words to be spoken.

On one occasion, after being spoken to by his wife, in a manner ill-befitting a stately gent, he instantly had her banished to a desolate isle, where she was left to ponder on her punishment until her dying day.

His period of power occurred in the late 16th century when King James VI reigned. A private confidant of the King himself, Mr Edwards managed to acquire a vast fortune, not all by honest means.

A miser by all accounts, he hoarded his treasure in a hidden bottle dungeon within his home. It was never found.

So as you walk within these walls, let your mind wonder with the realisation that two levels below your very feet, lie the home and fortune of the late Mr Edwards.
